PAC Volunteers Make

Woodland Planting

An Extraordinary Event

A Red-Tailed Hawk, perched high in a tree, supervised our major woodland planting on Saturday, September 16. He seemed to approve.

Thanks to the Chicago Park District and more than 30 volunteers, we planted approximately 2,000 wildflower plugs in the Southwest corner of the preserve.

(See work day photos)

Beginning in the spring, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful flowers that will be emerging along the woodland path.

Next Work Day, Saturday, October 20,
10 a.m. - noon, at the Preserve.
